Rack Ranch consists of 1,750 high-fenced acres located in central Texas in Leon County. The Ranch has been high fenced for 8 years under an intensive management program. The animals are on year-round protein feeding and we have food plots consisting of cow peas, biologic, wheat, oats, clover and lab-lab.

The terrain is Bahaya grass fields bordered with live oak. As the property slopes down to the Keichi River, many ravines and draws create excellent hunting veins for the avid deer hunter.

We enhanced our herd 8 years ago by bringing in 50 bred does from South Texas to create a foundation herd. We have also brought in Northern and Canadian deer which have attributed to our huge and healthy 200-250 pound deer that have been harvested over the last few years.

Being only 2 hours from Houston or Dallas makes the Rack Ranch a convenient weekend hunt without the long and tiring drive to South Texas. If you are a non-hunting guest, within 30 minutes you can be antique shopping in the local towns of Buffalo or Palestine. Canton, Texas, a fabulous monthly gathering of flea market-type shopping, is only an hour away. If fishing appeals to you, we have stocked lakes with black bass up to 14 pounds (so far!).

Our main lodge is located only 50 feet from our 30 foot deep reservoir. All hunters will have a private room with a double bed. We enjoy relaxing by the bon fire and listening to the fountain in the lake. Weather permitting, the cooking is done outside on the pit. Porterhouses are our specialty.

All hunts are fully guided. All of the hunting stands have operable windows and heaters are available when needed. We offer the same style stands on the ground for handicap or elderly hunters. Most hunts will be over corn feeders and food plots. For the experienced hunter, ground blinds and rattling are always an option. All hunts are guaranteed. If you do not harvest, you will not be charged a trophy fee. Pricing is based on Boone & Crockett scores.
